Information on roles

You - or one of your representatives - will be the customer. You will compile together with students the requirements, make change requests, evaluate documentation and accept the final product. As long as you have not done so, students can not receive any grade.

The students will design, implement, document and test your requirements.

The TA will review with you the documents, proposes improvements and creates a proposal to Prof. Röning about the grade.

How much time do I have to spend?

Typically, you have the following tasks

Which projects are suitable?

There are few limitations on projects' scope. It must be within the limits of students' resources (a total of 160 hours work per student should be spend) and should provide a challenging task to them.

Do I have to pay students or us?

As this work is part of student's education, you are not required to remit them. It is however an agreement between you and the students. University staff receives no additional funding, as it is part of our job.

Is the timetable strict?

It is not. However, it is worth agreeing beforehand on a timetable. Typically, if the work is not concluded by the summer holidays, severe delays must be expected.

Students perform under expectation

Provide honest feedback to students. If you do not see improvements, contact the TA.

Which software development methodology will be used?

It is up to you and students to agree on one suitable methodology. Typically, an iterative method showed beneficially.

What happens during the Project Presentation?

We ask you to present your project typically during the starting lecture. It is your chance to tell about the great opportunities in your task. Please limit yourself to a maximum presentation time of 10 min.
